My Philosophy
You are one-of-a-kind and so is your voice.
I see you.
I believe in you.
And I will help you believe in yourself and your ability.
It’s not a case of “you have it or you don’t.” That’s a myth and I’m here to bust it. The voice you have today is just a starting point. And the starting point is not important—what matters is where you end up.
If you’re willing to be open and get adventurous with me, who knows where that could lead? I can’t wait to see, can you?
Singers are artists, yes, but we are also vocal athletes. We must train in order to achieve peak performance, just like athletes do. You don’t know what you’re capable of until you try. (If you had never run before, you wouldn’t judge your ability to finish a marathon by your current condition, right? You would train, a little each day, until you were in shape.)
As your vocal coach, I will guide you through that process, sharing proven techniques and all of my hard-earned wisdom to help you triumph. It’s not just a physical game. A good mindset is essential for vocal freedom. If your mind isn’t right—if your heart isn’t in it—your voice won’t be its best. I’ll show you how to tap into that power and harmonize mind and body.
You’re not just a voice; you’re a whole person. I care about and will nurture all of you, and will show you how to take care of yourself so you can sing in a way that’s sustainable over a lifetime.
You can have what you desire, but you have to do more than wish on a star. You have to put in the work—and we will.
But we will also most definitely have fun!
You’ve chosen this path because it brings you joy, right? I can show you, step by step, just how to reach your goals and desires. I will share every tool, tip, and technique I’ve learned over three decades of performing and teaching (and believe me, there are a lot of them). I’ll be your guide as we explore the possibilities of your unique voice and discover where it might take you.
We will unleash your inner songbird and teach it to fly.
Hi. I’m Megan Theodorou, and here’s what I believe:
* You are one-of-a-kind and so is your voice.
* You’re not just a voice; you’re a whole person.
* Success takes discipline and dedication. But fun is a vital part of the process! I love what I do, and you should too!
* The voice you have is just a starting point. And the starting point is not important—what matters is where you end up. If you’re willing to be open and get adventurous with me, who knows where that could be? I can’t wait to see, can you?
Let’s sing together.
ABOUT ME
I’m a holistic voice teacher; I teach to the whole person because I believe that the mind is just as important as the body. I have over 20 years’ experience as a private musical theater and classical voice teacher. I focus on helping my students realize their potential and discover the joy of fully expressing their authentic voices.
I’m also a singer with three decades of professional experience. I’ve performed leading roles around the country in opera and musical theater (including on Broadway), so I have inside knowledge of what it takes to perform at that level. I also have concert, cabaret, and praise band leader experience.
I hold a Bachelors of Music in vocal performance from the University of CA at Irvine and a Masters of Music in vocal performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I’m an active member of The National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), The Music Teachers Association of CA (MTAC), The SpeakEasy Cooperative for Independent Voice Teachers, New York Singing Teacher’s Association (NYSTA), Actors Equity Association (AEA), The American Guild of Musical Artists (AGMA), and MTEA (Musical Theatre Educator’s Alliance).
I am a life-long learner; I regularly attend workshops and conferences, take online and in-person courses in vocal pedagogy, and work with master voice teachers in areas such as the mind-body connection, contemporary singing styles, vocal health and treatment, and bio-energetics. This ongoing exploration not only helps me grow my own singing, it also helps me stay fresh and up to date on the latest learning trends and voice teaching techniques so I can offer the best possible online and San Clemente voice lessons.

“Megan really intertwines working with your voice and your body. Her goal is to help you sing healthily using your entire body, not just to sound good, which is something I only ever learned from her. And from that I sounded better and singing became an infinite amount easier!
I have not only learned how to be a better performer, but I also learned it’s okay to make mistakes. It’s about the process not the final product. The journey is everything and you should enjoy it. Performing and singing is your passion and you should love singing whether you’re in an audition or just in your living room performing for your parents! ”
“As our daughter’s voice teacher, Megan helped her find her needs and strengths and to find her ‘true voice’. Megan is an awesome instructor who helped our daughter to build confidence in her vocal abilities. We are very pleased with all that our daughter learned from Megan and would highly recommend her as a voice teacher. ”
